Greg Miller, the Real-Life Inspiration Behind "The Big Year," to Speak at Hancock County Naturalists' 50-Year Anniversary

Greg Miller, portrayed by Jack Black in the film, will be the featured speaker at the Hancock County Naturalists' 50-year anniversary celebration. The event will take place on September 14 at 7 p.m. at the Old Mill Stream Centre in Findlay, Ohio.

"The Big Year," a 2011 comedy, brought the competitive world of birding to the big screen. Greg Miller's character, played by Jack Black, took center stage. Now, you can hear from the real Greg Miller and get insights into the film's making during this special event.

President of the Hancock County Naturalists, Jane Riker, expressed excitement about the event, saying, "Greg Miller's contribution to 'The Big Year' and his birding expertise make him the perfect guest speaker for our 50-year anniversary."

Greg Miller's personal experiences and knowledge as a consultant during the filming of "The Big Year" add a unique dimension to the movie's narrative. The event promises captivating stories from behind the scenes and a peek into the "fact vs. fiction" aspect of the film.

Tickets are available online at hancockcountynaturalists.org/tickets. Prices are $15 per person, $20 per couple, and $10 for students (ages 15 to full-time college students). Each ticket includes a complimentary one-year membership in the Hancock County Naturalists group.
